Our Purpose:
main purpose of the Faculty of Education is to train teachers who contribute to the society by providing scientific knowledge and education at the highest level, in line with the mission and vision of the university, who are committed to ethical values, sensitive to the environment and have a sense of responsibility. Thanks to modern infrastructure, laboratory facilities and educational processes equipped with advanced technologies, we support our students to gain the habit of lifelong learning.
Our academic staff is encouraged by innovative research and entrepreneurial activities. In this way, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies are shaped in line with the needs of the country and the region. We aim to improve the practical skills of our students with the internship and practical training opportunities we offer.
We regularly evaluate our training processes in line with accreditation standards and quality management principles. Our faculty aims to increase the recognition of our education quality and strengthen the competitiveness of our graduates on a global scale by actively participating in national and international accreditation processes. In line with the strategic goals of our university, we adhere to the principles of transparency, reliability and continuous improvement.
In order to adapt to the needs of the digital age, we develop technology-supported teaching methods and provide our students with creative thinking skills through innovation-oriented projects. We organize various seminars, workshops and certificate programs to support the personal and professional development of our teacher candidates. As the Faculty of Education, we are committed to providing our students with a modern and dynamic learning experience by rapidly adapting to changing educational needs.
- The Faculty of Education was established in 2002 under Atatürk University and started to train students in the departments of Science Education and Classroom Teaching, which were opened under the Department of Primary Education in 2003. In accordance with the Annex: 97 article of the Law No. 5765 dated 22/5/2008, Bayburt University was established and our Faculty gained its current status under Bayburt University.
- The Faculty of Education is actively;
Classroom Teaching and Preschool Teaching under the Department of Basic Education,
Science Teaching and Mathematics Teaching under the Department of Mathematics and Science Education,
Turkish Language Teaching and Social Studies Teaching under the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education,
Guidance and Psychological Counseling under the Department of Educational Sciences,
English Language Teaching under the Department of Foreign Language Education
Students are educated in the programs.
Our Work and Duties:
- The Faculty of Education provides the duties specified in the law and the services required by its jurisdiction within the framework of the Council of Higher Education, the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions and other legislation to which BAYU is subject. It is responsible to the Rectorate while carrying out its work.
The duties, powers and responsibilities of the Dean of the Faculty of Education are as follows:
- In Article 12 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, the duties of the university, which is defined as providing "education, scientific research, publication and consultancy services at various levels", fulfill the issues related to its field,
- To carry out studies for the solution of social and local problems by cooperating with the relevant institutions on issues related to the field of duty and for the benefit of the society, to present the results for the benefit of the society and to carry out examinations and researches to be requested by public institutions, to report the thoughts and suggestions within this scope,
- Planning the activities of all academic and administrative unit personnel in order to carry out the activities to be carried out effectively, efficiently, economically and with high quality, and carrying out these activities in accordance with the plans,
- Determining the needs related to the administrative, financial and physical resources of the faculty, managing resources, using the resources provided effectively and efficiently, planning the annual budget, spending it in accordance with the plans,
- Determining the need for in-service training and planning annual training,
- Keeping statistical information about the education, personnel and physical space of the faculty,
- Carrying out disciplinary, administrative and academic procedures related to faculty students and academic-administrative staff,
- Providing the necessary physical and human conditions for providing services to students in the field of Education in accordance with the educational content planned in the Faculty Programs,
- Determining the needs of administrative and academic staff in line with the needs reported by the Faculty Units and Programs and coordinating their supply.
Units:
The Faculty of Education fulfills these duties through the following units affiliated to it;
a. Faculty Secretariat:
- Division of labor according to the education, knowledge and skill status of the Administrative Staff Working in the Faculty, supervision,
- Controlling and executing the personal affairs of the Administrative and Academic Staff, ensuring that they fulfill their overtime in accordance with the legislation,
- Conducting internal and external correspondence to the Dean's Office,
- Execution and supervision of registration, filing, statistics and archive services,
- Taking precautions regarding the security and cleanliness of the faculty,
- Carrying out studies in the fields of occupational health and safety and civil defense, taking precautions,
- Planning the needs of administrative personnel, notifying the relevant units,
- Evaluating administrative personnel according to their performance, subjecting them to rotation,
- Planning the budget given to the faculty and submitting it to the expenditure authority,
- Ensuring that the faculty is ready for education on weekdays and weekends,
- To prepare the agendas of the Faculty Board articles and to control the distribution of the decisions taken to the relevant parties,
b. Dean's Secretariat:
- Making the dean's travel, appointments, official-private communications and confidential correspondence,
- Keeping and archiving the private and institutional files of the dean,
- Preparing the agendas of the faculty boards (Board of Directors, Faculty Board and Faculty Disciplinary Board), recording the decisions taken and distributing them to the relevant units,
- Preparing and sending the Dean's congratulatory messages on religious and national holidays,
- Checking the maintenance and cleanliness of the Dean's and Dean's Secretariat rooms.
c. Editorial Department:
- Carrying out clerical work; Recording incoming and outgoing documents, making all kinds of correspondence related to the faculty within the scope of circulars and instructions, delivering them to the relevant units/departments and authorities,
- Receiving all kinds of notifications, filing up-to-date and archive according to the file plan for incoming and outgoing correspondence,
- Removing the documents that need to be archived at the end of the year, destroying the expired ones, or delivering them to the institutions for recovery,
- Monitoring changes in laws and regulations.
d. Personnel and Personnel Affairs Unit:
- Personal affairs related to the academic and administrative staff of the faculty; transfer, appointment, resignation, relocation, retirement, military service, extension of duty period, promotion, leave, etc.
- Unit correspondence, preservation and archiving of documents in accordance with the requirements of the legislation,
- Preparing the documents related to the obligations of the academic and administrative staff of the faculty in financial matters and notifying the accrual office,
- Ensuring that property declarations are obtained, hidden and sent to the relevant places in accordance with the Property Declaration Law No. 3628.
e. Department Secretariat:
- To carry out all correspondence prepared by the Department Chair
- To carry out all correspondence related to the Department, Institute
- To forward the incoming articles to the Head of the Department, to ensure that the articles are forwarded to the Dean's Office on the day
- To carry out the correspondence of the academic staff regarding the extension of time, domestic and international assignments, leave petitions, compensation programs, staff allocation procedures, resignation, starting of duty and course assignments
- To ensure that student class lists, weekly course schedules, course assignments, exam schedules related to education and training are announced on time and distributed to the instructors
- To ensure the organization and order of the department boards, to check unnecessary and outdated announcements and to remove them from the board
- To ensure that internal and external mail transactions are carried out together with the editorial office and that the mail and other documents of the department are distributed to the relevant persons.
- At the beginning of each semester, to collect the personal weekly course schedules of the Faculties/Institutes from all faculty members and forward them to the relevant units.
- To coordinate the work related to the department between students and instructors, to assist communication
- To forward the petitions from students and faculty members to the Dean's Office through the Department Chair
- Organizing meetings, presentations, seminars, etc. to be held in the department and preparing minutes and reports
- To arrange documents, keep records and ensure their preservation within the scope of accreditation studies of the departments
- To carry out the necessary operations through the automation system of the department
- To forward the material error petitions received from the grading office to the relevant instructor, to file them and to announce the result to the student, and to forward them to the relevant unit in case of material errors.
- Entering the counseling assigned to new students into the automation system and announcing them to students and instructors
- At the end of the final exams, collecting and archiving the exam documents and envelopes from the instructors
- Assisting instructors with photocopies
- To provide a harmonious and efficient working environment by dividing the labor between the personnel working in the unit
- To identify the deficiencies and mistakes in the documents submitted by the students and instructors and to ensure that the necessary arrangements are made.
- To perform other duties assigned by the Dean and Faculty Secretary
f. Movable Registration, Control and Purchasing Unit:
- Determining the consumption and fixture material needs of the faculty (educational materials, stationery, building maintenance and repair materials, wood and metal materials, electronic hardware and technological materials, machinery and equipment, etc.), keeping a record of the purchased material,
- Determination of those who need maintenance from the fixtures, materials and equipment of the faculty,
- Arranging, recording and archiving documents such as movable transaction receipts, embezzlement receipts, census reports, etc.,
- Identifying the fixture materials that have fallen out of use and notifying the relevant unit or commission.
g. Accrual Unit:
- Carrying out budget transactions together with the purchasing unit, keeping records, preparing reports,
- Utilization of appropriations in budget appropriations in accordance with the planning in this regard, finalization of additional appropriation requests, automation and preservation of all kinds of budget appropriations revision transaction records,
- Accrual and accounting procedures of salary, administrative duty fees, domestic and international temporary and permanent duty travel, additional course fees, exam fees, overtime fees and faculty communication expenses in accordance with the relevant legislation,
- Keeping, preserving and keeping the books, records and documents related to accounting services in accordance with the procedure, and keeping them ready for audit,
- Follow-up of the studies related to the regulations such as laws, statutes, regulations, circulars, instructions related to the unit.
h. Technical Services (Maintenance, Repair) Unit:
- Installation, maintenance and repair of water, heating, electricity, lighting and sound systems,
- Carrying out the wood repair works of the Faculty,
- Installation, maintenance and repair of the devices in the faculty,
- Elimination of malfunctions or reporting if the fault cannot be eliminated, providing assistance from the relevant higher unit,
- On-site examination of the problems communicated to the unit, providing the necessary material, ensuring its supply.
i. Quality/Management System Team:
In line with the BAYU Quality Directive, Quality Policy and objectives, it is to ensure that the establishment, implementation, monitoring and continuity of the Faculty of Education Quality/Management System are carried out on behalf of the Dean.
The duties and responsibilities of the unit quality team are as follows:
- To support the establishment of internal and external quality assurance and integrated quality management system in the unit,
- To carry out studies for the creation, dissemination and development of quality culture in the unit,
- To coordinate and record the work for the identification, organization, implementation and maintenance of the processes related to the integrated quality management system of the unit,
- To support the establishment of departmental quality commissions, to determine their working principles, to support their activities and to monitor their activities,
