The “Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Literature Awards”, which were given for the first time this year by Bayburt University Dede Korkut Application and Research Center, were presented to their owners in a ceremony.
The award ceremony held in Bayburt University New Complex Conference Hall was attended by Bayburt Governor Yusuf Odabaş, Bayburt University President Prof. Dr. Selçuk Coşkun, Bayburt Deputy Mayor Nesimuttin Selçuk, academicians, many guests and students.
After the opening speech by Bayburt University Presidential Advisor Prof. Dr. Necmettin Tozlu, Bayburt University President Prof. Dr. Selçuk Coşkun took the podium and began his speech by extending his welcome wishes to the 1st Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Literature Awards program organized by Bayburt University.
President Coşkun said, “Universities are undoubtedly universal institutions. We wholeheartedly believe in this as Bayburt University. A university that does not have one foot in the city's values actually has nothing to offer or guide the world. In this sense, first of all, determining our own values and complimenting our own values is one of our primary duties. I would like to thank all our colleagues who contributed to this program during this process. I would also like to thank our guests who received awards. May our first award ceremony be auspicious and auspicious.” he said.
Within the scope of Bayburt University Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Literature Awards, the Turkish Islamic Geography Service Award was given to the Islamic Research Center; the Literature Award was given to Story Writer Cemal Şakar; the Scientist Award was given to the President of the Turkish Language Association Prof. Dr. Mustafa S. Kaçalin; the Traditional Arts Award was given to Reis’ül-Hattatin Hasan Çelebi; and the Wise Man Award was given to Prof. Dr. Sadettin Ökten.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncay Başoğlu, who received the award on behalf of the Islamic Research Center, and Story Writer Cemal Şakar, who received the Literature Award, thanked Bayburt University.
The President of the Turkish Language Association, Prof. Dr. Mustafa S. Kaçalin, who received the Science Award, thanked Bayburt University and made a short speech about “being thanked and appreciated”.
The Reis’ül-Hattatin Hasan Çelebi, who received the Traditional Arts Award, thanked Bayburt University for its sensitivity, said that the university embraced the art of calligraphy and expressed his gratitude to those who contributed.
The Wise Man Award recipient, Prof. Dr. Sadettin Ökten, also thanked Bayburt University for the award.
At the end of the award ceremony, the academicians who contributed as jury members to the determination of the awards were presented with certificates of appreciation by Rector Coşkun.
