Leadership, Governance, and Quality Policy

In accordance with the Development Plans, Strategic Plan objectives, and goals of Bayburt University, the institution has developed its “Leadership, Governance, and Quality Policy” to provide qualified educational services while adhering to quality standards and ethical values, with education and science as its priorities. This policy is based on the following principles:

  • Adopting quality management and continuous improvement processes in administration, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
  • Making administrative decisions based on ethical values, ensuring institutionalization and sustainability through a transparent and participatory governance approach, while enabling stakeholder participation and feedback.
  • Maintaining the mission of being a leader in education and science by aiming for excellence in education and research processes, and being an institution that adds value to all its stakeholders.
  • Supporting students' academic and personal development through a student-centered approach, continuously monitoring student satisfaction.
  • Strengthening internal communication by enhancing communication between academics and administrative staff, ensuring the fair and efficient use of information and resources.
  • Encouraging staff to provide services and business processes ethically, respectfully, fairly, and transparently.
  • Guiding employees toward continuous improvement and innovative thinking, and making efforts to quickly adapt to changing educational needs.
  • Fulfilling our environmental and societal responsibilities in accordance with international sustainability principles.

 

Education Policy 

Bayburt University, in line with its Strategic Plan, the legally defined mission and vision, and its educational goals, aims to educate individuals who are knowledgeable, skilled, productive, and sensitive to environmental and social issues. The university focuses on critical thinking and applied learning, offering customized, student-centered educational programs for different disciplines.

In this regard, the education policy includes:

  • Designing learning-focused programs that meet local and national needs and the requirements of the modern age, ensuring they are delivered by qualified teaching staff and aimed at training individuals who adopt ethical values, respect human rights, are capable of using knowledge and technology, and are self-confident and able to express themselves.
  • Ensuring graduates possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for their profession, with a focus on innovation in science, culture, and art, promoting lifelong learning, addressing societal issues, and becoming leaders in the region and country. Graduates should also be experts who solve problems collaboratively with stakeholders and contribute to science in their fields.
  • Enriching the education process through various methods, techniques, and interactive tools, ensuring it is dynamic and continuously improving through stakeholder participation, developing programs to meet expectations.
  • Adopting a student-centered approach in decision-making processes, with an emphasis on student representation, and delivering all educational services with innovative approaches, while ensuring the digital transformation of education.
  • Integrating education with research, social contribution, and internationalization processes, prioritizing scientific and technological developments, ensuring the accreditation of education programs, and ensuring their continuous improvement.

 

R&D Policy

In line with the vision defined within Bayburt University’s Strategic Plan and mission, the university considers the following principles when conducting research and development activities:

  • Being aligned with the institution’s mission, vision, core values, strategic plan, and quality policy.
  • Complying with Bayburt University’s ethical principles and rules.
  • Being in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Increasing the number of qualified academic, scientific, and social publications included in national and international indices.
  • Increasing the number of projects, patents, and useful models recognized at national and international levels.
  • Encouraging the production of products that contribute to the region and country’s economy, taking into account the regional conditions and needs.
  • Contributing to the agricultural and livestock education of the local and regional population.
  • Providing necessary support for academic staff and students to contribute to research and development activities, creating opportunities for new ideas, and organizing necessary training.
  • Supporting academic staff to transform R&D outputs into value-added products and commercialize them by creating spin-offs.

 

Social Contribution Policy

Bayburt University adopts the following principles as part of its social contribution policy, in alignment with its mission, vision, core values, strategic plan, and quality policy:

  • Carrying out activities that are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, addressing regional and national needs, and benefiting stakeholders.
  • Reflecting the institution’s research and participatory identity to society, highlighting local and regional values.
  • Conducting research on social issues based on a scientific approach, and presenting the results for the benefit of society.
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders (civil society, public sector, private sector) to develop innovative solutions that support regional and national development and exhibiting creative approaches in projects aimed at societal benefit.
  • Carrying out activities and collaborations that support the continuous protection and development of regional resources and environmental values, raising awareness about their sustainable use.
  • Providing lifelong learning programs based on educational and development opportunities that support the development of stakeholders.
  • Acting in accordance with ethical rules and universal values in all social contribution activities, preserving and enhancing local cultural heritage.
  • Creating opportunities for students to participate actively in social contribution activities, enabling them to contribute to their personal development and to society.

 


 

Internationalization Policy

Bayburt University adopts the following principles within its Internationalization Policy, aligned with its mission, vision, Strategic Plan, and Integrated Quality Management System, and within the framework of its student-centered approach to education:

  • Offering education programs that take into account national and international developments.
  • Collaborating with universities that are recognized both domestically and internationally, creating joint projects and partnerships.
  • Encouraging faculty and students to participate in international exchange programs, promoting international mobility, and enhancing the knowledge and experience gained through these exchanges.
  • Increasing awareness, visibility, and collaboration with foreign institutions through student mobility and the acceptance of international students, focusing on increasing cultural understanding and cooperation with countries.
  • Participating actively in European Union programs and projects, running joint initiatives that make the region attractive for cooperation with EU countries.
  • Ensuring that all international mobility processes are carried out digitally to streamline operations.
  • Using feedback from academic and administrative staff, students, and international students involved in international mobility programs to improve the processes.
