The book titled “Bayburt, the City of History and Culture-I” edited by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Göktaş and Dr. Kurban Durmuşoğlu, members of the History Department of our faculty, has been published. In the book, to which the members of the History Department of our faculty contributed, the historical and cultural development of Bayburt has been examined in contexts such as various sources since the Middle Ages and the social, economic and political structures of the period. This book presents the position and importance of Bayburt in the historical process to the readers by examining various source works written in different periods. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özkan Dayı discussed how the information provided by Iranian sources about Bayburt in the Middle Ages reflects the social and religious structure of the period under the title of “Persian Source Works Providing Information about Bayburt’s Middle Ages”.
