15th of July Commemoration Events Held at Our University
As one of the glorious victories in the history of democracy, the anniversary of July 15, which is engraved not only in history but also in memories, was commemorated with the conference and traditional archery tournament events organized by our University.

Participating in the conference as a speaker, Deputy Dean of our Faculty Assoc. Dr. In his conference speech, Serdar GÖKTAŞ explained the evolution of the coup mentality that has been going on for centuries and underlined that every military coup is basically an act of extortion. Stating that the military rebellions in the Ottoman Empire started with the Buçuktepe revolt of 1446 during the reign of Mehmet the Conqueror and that they were seen in almost all the sultans' periods until the Babıali revolt in 1913, Göktaş pointed out that the coup attempts in question were a major factor in the decline and collapse processes. Summarizing the traumas created by the coup mentality, which started with the 1960 military coup in the Republican period and continued with the usurpation of the national will in 1971 and 1980, in the national memory with post-modern manifestations such as February 28, Göktaş noted that July 15 changed the course of history as the victory of the national sovereignty that was damaged by the coups.
