Bayburt University Library and Documentation Department was established with the establishment of our University on 22.05.2008. As the Library and Documentation Department, our aim is to support the research and teaching carried out at our university by adopting the fastest, most economical and most accurate service approach for information access, to provide and organize scientific and cultural materials that our academic staff, administrative staff, students and external visitors may need in our library and in our units outside the library, and to provide a professional service adapted to the information age.
Founded in 2009, Bayburt University Central Library operated in its 3-storey building on the Dede Korkut Campus with a closed area of 650 m2, allowing 140 people to work at the same time, until 22 October 2016.
Our Central Library has been moved to our University's Baberti Complex as of October 22, 2016 and until the construction of the new service building, it serves its users on the 3rd floor of the Bayburt Faculty of Education Dean's Office building on an area of 1033 square meters with a capacity of 120 readers at the same time.
In the entrance section of our Baberti Complex Library, there is a borrowing-returning-advisory services unit and 6 computers where our users can access the library automation. In the right section, there are reading desks and book shelves, and in the left section, there is the administrative unit, guest lounge and archive. Our library serves its users with an open shelf system and the LC classification system is used as the classification system. The YORDAM program was preferred as the library automation program considering its easy usability. There are computers and a wireless network system where our users can scan the catalog inside the library building.
