Turnitin

IMPORTANT: In the Add Assignment section on Turnitin, make sure that the option to store submitted assignments is checked in the Submit Written Assignments section. If it is not checked, when the document is modified and scanned again, it can cause up to 90% of direct plagiarism. In order for the relevant assignment to be deleted, it must be approved with "REQUEST PERMANENT DELETE".

As of November 29, 2023, in order to upload a document to Turnitin, a student must be enrolled in that class and uploaded on behalf of the student. You can find Turnitin's official announcement of this feature at this link.

When it comes to theses, register students on Turnitin and upload on their behalf.

Additionally, "Quick Send" can be used as an alternative upload method, but it is important to select "no repository" when going to upload the document. You can find detailed information about the "Quick Send" feature in the following links:

  • Turnitin is a web-based service that provides plagiarism detection for documents such as theses, student assignments, projects, etc. Academic staff who have completed their doctorate and want to use this service must contact the BAYU Library and Documentation Department and send a request including their name/surname, institutional e-mail address, academic/administrative position, and department information. In this way, they will be added to the system with "Instructor" rights.

iThenticate

iThenticate is a web-based service that provides plagiarism detection services. Academic staff who have completed their doctorate and above who want to use this service must contact the BAYU Library and Documentation Department and send a request that includes their name/surname, institutional e-mail address, academic/administrative position and department information.

Only personal articles are scanned through the system. When a document other than an article is scanned, the account of the relevant user will be deactivated for a certain period of time. Also, be careful not to scan the same documents more than once.

İntihal.Net

It is a web-based service that provides plagiarism detection services. It is available to all academic staff and students.
