How to make a Seminar Presentation

The seminar course is organized for students to conduct research on topics that can help their thesis studies and to share their work with department students and faculty members by making presentations. The purpose of the course is to prepare students for their thesis studies and to provide them with the ability to present and discuss their work in front of a group. The stages of the seminar course are given below. Seminar presentations should be prepared in accordance with the Graduate Thesis Writing Guide.

Stage Description
Subject Determination The student who registers for the seminar course determines the seminar topic together with his/her advisor.
Presentation to Advisor The student prepares the first draft of the seminar presentation and presents it to the supervisor. The student makes the corrections, additions and deletions suggested by the advisor and submits the final version of the presentation to the advisor.
Seminar Presentation The supervisor notifies the place and time of the student's seminar presentation to the head of the main science department with the Seminar Presentation Suggestion Form. After the presentation, which is open to the audience, it is evaluated as "passed" or "failed" and entered into the student information system by the advisor. The student who fails the seminar presentation makes a seminar presentation again at the time determined by the counselor. The seminar presentation must be made until the end of the semester at the latest and the success status must be entered into the student information system.
Delivery of Seminar Documents to the Institute The prepared seminar presentation file or CD is sent to the Graduate School through the head of the department together with the Seminar Evaluation Form.
