The culinary kitchen, designed in a concept where world flavors can be prepared for the practical courses of the Cookery Program operating within the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department of our Vocational School, was opened with a ceremony attended by our senior management. The kitchen offered Turkish Cuisine flavors specially for the opening.
Delivering the opening speech, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mutlu Türkmen stated that vocational education is important in revealing the potential of our students and meeting our country's need for qualified intermediate staff. Pointing out that the trainings we provide in our Vocational Schools of Higher Vocational Education are applied as much as possible, Rector Türkmen said that the application areas have a great contribution to the accumulation of important experiences that our students will use in their professional lives. Rector Türkmen said, “We have no doubt that the practice kitchen we have opened today will not only add important experiences to our students, but will also carry our university forward in the field of gastronomy. Wishing the kitchen to be beneficial for our university and students, Rector Türkmen thanked our academicians and staff who contributed. After the opening, Rector Türkmen tasted the dishes made by our students in the kitchen, visited the presentation areas and chatted with the students.
Vocational School Director Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Ceyhan said that the two professional kitchens have all the necessary equipment for culinary education for flavors from the world cuisine and have the capacity to provide both theoretical and practical training to 48 students at the same time. Mr. Ceyhan thanked Rector Turkmen and the departments, academic and administrative staff for their support and stated that we will make the best use of the opportunities we have.
