The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences is an academic organization established in 2008 in accordance with the Additional Article 97(a) of the Law on Organization of Higher Education Institutions No. 2809 published in the Official Gazette No. 26892, and provides services within the scope of the duties and authority defined in the law for Bayburt University and its units. Within this scope, the departments of Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Political Science and Public Administration, and International Trade and Business Administration are located within the body of BAYÜ Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in order to realize the mission and vision of the institution in studies related to its own field.
The main purpose of the education provided in our faculty programs is; The aim of the program is to produce graduates who are competent, well-equipped in the given field, who know at least one foreign language, who can research, criticize, who can use the knowledge they have gained flexibly and creatively, and who are needed nationally and internationally.
The duties, authorities and responsibilities of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Dean's Office are as follows:
To program the activities of all administrative unit personnel so that the activities to be carried out can be carried out effectively, efficiently, economically and with high quality,
To carry out disciplinary, administrative and academic procedures related to Faculty Students and academic-administrative personnel,
To provide the necessary physical and human conditions for providing services to students in accordance with the Education contents planned in the Faculty Programs in the field of Education-Training,
To determine the needs of administrative and academic personnel in line with the needs reported by the Faculty Units and Programs and to coordinate their provision.
The Dean's Office fulfills these duties with the contribution and support of the following boards and in cooperation with them.
Faculty Board:
The faculty board consists of the heads of the departments affiliated to the faculty, directors of institutes and colleges affiliated to the faculty, if any, and three faculty members elected by the professors in the faculty from among themselves for three years, two faculty members elected by the associate professors from among themselves, and one faculty member elected by the assistant professors from among themselves.
The faculty board is an academic body and performs the following duties:
- Deciding on the faculty's education, training, scientific research and publication activities and the principles, plans, programs and education-training calendar related to these activities,
- Electing members to the faculty board of directors.
- Performing other duties assigned by law and regulations.
The faculty board of directors consists of three professors, two associate professors and one assistant professor elected by the faculty board for three years under the chairmanship of the dean. The faculty board of directors convenes upon the call of the dean. The board of directors may establish temporary working groups and education-training coordinators when deemed necessary and regulate their duties.
The faculty board of directors is a body that assists the dean in administrative activities and performs the following duties:
- To assist the dean in implementing the principles determined by the faculty board's decisions,
- To ensure the implementation of the faculty's education-training, plan and programs, and calendar,
- To prepare the faculty's investment, program and budget draft,
- To make decisions on all matters to be brought by the dean regarding faculty management,
- To decide on the admission of students, course adaptations and dismissals, and procedures related to education-training and exams,
- To perform other duties assigned by laws and regulations.
To make suggestions and initiatives to strengthen the relations between the university and other institutions and to develop cooperation in order to ensure the effective execution of leadership, management and quality, education-training, research-development and social contribution processes.
- To evaluate the implementation results of the university's strategic plan and quality assurance system and to make remedial suggestions when necessary.
- To provide information and make suggestions on current international, national and regional needs that should be taken into consideration in the creation and updating of education-training programs and the competencies expected of graduates.
- To take initiatives at the institutional level in the preparation and execution of community service projects involving the university's students, academic and administrative staff.
- To make recommendations in the establishment of the necessary physical/technical infrastructure and financial resources for the execution of education-training, research-development and management activities.
a. Department of Economics
The Department of Economics was established to meet the increasing need for personnel in both public and private sectors in the field of social sciences in order to carry out studies related to its field in line with the mission and vision of the institution. In the undergraduate program, where courses will be offered in a wide range, one of the main objectives of the Department of Economics is to equip students with a strong knowledge of economics and to provide them with the ability to perceive and solve economic problems, as well as to train quality economists who plan to work as practitioners and researchers in the public and private sectors of the Turkish economy. In addition to theoretical education, the Department also aims to train individuals who are sensitive to, question and synthesize the problems of our country and the world with intensive social and cultural activities aimed at the education of students. In addition to these, it aims to provide institutional contribution to development efforts that will respond to the needs of the business world and society locally and nationwide with an interactive approach.
b. Department of Business Administration
The Department of Business Administration, located within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Bayburt University, was established as a branch of science that covers the necessary facts for the effective management of business organizations that play a fundamental role in the country's economic system, considering the global environmental conditions, in order to realize the mission and vision of the institution in studies related to its field. In this context, Business Administration education deals with the processes related to making the right decisions that will ensure the effective and efficient use of resources, strategic management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resources and contemporary management techniques. It also aims to train leading managers who can easily adapt to the changing conditions of today and the future, who are committed to ethical values, creative and who seek perfection in solving problems by providing students with organization, management and evaluation skills.
c. Finance
The Department of Finance, located within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Bayburt University, is a department that combines the disciplines of law, accounting and economics in order to realize the mission and vision of the institution in studies related to its field, and aims to train state personnel or public personnel in essence. The Department of Finance is a department that conducts studies on how money should be used. The department of finance is a department that evaluates the financial relations between the state and society, examines the relations between finance and other disciplines, and provides analytical, critical, etc. perspectives to its students. The department of finance provides the training of well-equipped and qualified personnel to meet the needs of the public and private sectors regarding financial and economic issues.
d. International Business and Trade
The department of International Trade and Business, located within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Bayburt University, was established to teach all aspects of exchange, which forms the basis of trade, on an international scale in order to realize the mission and vision of the institution in studies related to its field. In this context, students who will choose the department are offered courses in the fields of law, economics, and business. Law courses include topics such as basic legal terms, international legal rules and agreements, international contract rules, and the legal structure of international business partnerships. Economics courses include micro and macroeconomic areas.
e. Political Science and Public Administration
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration, located within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bayburt University, was established as an important discipline that examines the reflections of global and national developments on political science and public administration from theoretical, historical, legal and sociological perspectives in order to realize the institution's mission and vision in studies related to its field. Our graduates of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration will be able to leave us equipped and qualified in the fields of politics, management, law, urbanization and environment; they will be able to manage at many levels of the public and private sectors.
