History
The Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program was established under the Veterinary Department with the decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 30.01.2017 and started to receive students in 2015-2016 academic year.

Specific Admission Requirements
Obtaining the required grade from the Student Selection and Placement Examination held by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The application procedure of foreing students can also be seen in the university website before the start of each academic year.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
In Turkish higher education institutions, the process of recognition of prior learning at an early stage yet. Therefore, in all programs of Bayburt University, recognition of prior learning is not fully initialized. Therefore, in our University, in prior learning ,the recognition of university education to a previous exemption foreign language exams are just done.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The courses available in the program of 120 ECTS should be completed successfully and diploma score of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 should be obtained.
Profile of The Programme
The program is aimed at researchers who are able to conduct food and pathological analyzes in public and private laboratories under the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, with the laboratories entering the study area of veterinary medicine, animal nutrition and breeding, cultivation and pet animal breeding, protective vaccination, artificial insemination Conducts a training plan to train qualified technical personnel who can assist in veterinary treatment in clinical examinations and operations. The program includes courses on animal breeding and health. In addition to compulsory courses, there are elective courses offered to the students with the chance to choose according to their preferences.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
The graduates of Veterinary and Laboratory Health Program can have two jobs; they can work in private laboratories and hospitals as a laborant. Besides, They can work in animal health branch offices of Veterinary department of Ministry of Agriculture, cattle and sheep farms, animal hospitals, pet Shops, pharmaceutical factories and companies, private clinics, municipal slaughterhouse as assistant. Students also can work in agricultural plants in the region.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who successfully complete associate degree education can transfer to Biology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Animal Production, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Agricultural Biotechnology, Veterinary and Animal Science undergraduate programs with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are required to take at least one midterm and a final exam for each course. Contribution to the achievement grade, midterm exam (midterm exam can be taken to evaluate the scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exam, small exam) contribution is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is% 60. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to take at least 45 points from the final exam. A student who receives one of the grades AA, BA, BB, CB and CC is deemed to have completed the course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades.
Graduation Requirements
Graduates of Associate Degree can apply license program if they can be successfull in the exam that is made by Student Selection and Placement Center.

Facilities
Our department has 4 classrooms, 1 Veterinary Laboratory, 1 Veterinary Clinic and 1 Computer Laboratory. There is also 1 practice farm to provide applied training opportunities.
