Our Faculty was established with the proposal of the University Senate dated 28/07/2011 and numbered 2011/14, the approval of the General Council of Higher Education, the proposal letters of the Ministry of National Education and the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 25/06/2012 and numbered 2012/3363; according to the additional article 30 of the Law No. 2809 and this decision was published in the Official Gazette dated 04 August 2012 and numbered 28374 and entered into force.
Education and training started in our faculty in 2010-2011 Academic Year. There are 2 separate programmes: Undergraduate Theology and ILITAM (Distance Education). The duration of the Bachelor of Theology Programme is 5 years including the Compulsory Arabic Preparatory Programme.
Classroom, Laboratory and Workshop Status
The physical structure and education units of our faculty are in a way to enable our students to learn with the methods required by the age. Our students can study and work in classrooms and study halls, all of which are equipped with video equipment. Our faculty has one computer laboratory, four lecture theatres and fifteen classrooms.
Conference and Seminar Facilities
There are two conference halls in our faculty. Conferences, panels, symposiums, etc. academic studies can be held. We also have a meeting room where seminars are held every week and the Faculty Academic Board meets.
Canteen and Recreation Facilities
There is a 646 m2 student canteen in our faculty, which is organised to meet the recreational needs of our students.
Job Opportunities After Graduation
Students who graduate from our faculty can be employed in the following fields:
They can be a teacher of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge in Primary and Secondary Education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, and a teacher of vocational courses in Imam Hatip High Schools.
Directorate of Religious Affairs
In addition to the basic service areas such as Imam-Katip, Muezzin-Kayyim, Mufti, Vâiz and Qur'an Course teacher in the Presidency of Religious Affairs, they can work at various levels of the Presidency of Religious Affairs such as instructor in In-Service Training Courses, expert in the Supreme Board of Religious Affairs, religious attaché abroad, religious counsellor.
Universities
They can also become academicians in various social sciences fields, especially in the Faculties of Theology of universities, if they receive postgraduate education.
Associate/Bachelor's Degree and Post-Graduate Education Opportunities
The Faculty of Theology is a 5-year institution including the preparatory class and the Department of Primary Religious Culture and Ethics Education is a 4-year formal higher education institution. In addition, there are 2-year Vocational High Schools in Open Education Faculties. Students who graduate from these colleges can take the vertical transfer exam and gain the right to enroll in the ILITAM (Theology Undergraduate Completion) programme and receive a 4-year faculty graduate diploma. After graduating from our faculty, it is possible to do master's and doctorate in all disciplines in our faculty through the Institute of Social Sciences.
Education Opportunities Abroad
Students who graduate from our faculty can continue their postgraduate education in different countries through the Ministry of National Education. Announcements related to this subject are announced by the Ministry of National Education. In addition, students can continue their postgraduate education in foreign educational institutions with their own means.
