Food Engineering

 

The Food Engineering program at our institution comprises two departments: food science and food technology. The significance of the food industry cannot be overstated, especially concerning the development of our beloved country, Turkey. Civil Engineering

 

The Civil Engineering Department, within the scope of Bayburt University Engineering Faculty, started education in 2009 and gave its first graduates in 2013. As the Civil Engineering Department, we continue our academic and engineering activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels with our outstanding achievements in the country and abroad by constantly improving our mission and vision.

 

 Civil Engineering Program comprises seven divisions: Geotechnics, Hydraulics, Transportation, Mechanics, Structural, Construction Materials, and Construction Management. We play an active role in solving education, scientific studies, and engineering problems with the staff of 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors, 6 Assistant Professors, 1 Lecturer, and 3 Research Assistants in these divisions.

 

 Our department has a rich physical infrastructure with a lecture hall, 12 classrooms, a technical drawing room, 2 computer halls, and a conference hall. In addition to academic studies, experiments are carried out in our geotechnical, hydraulic, transportation, structural mechanics, and construction materials laboratories, in which our students actively reinforce the theoretical courses. In addition, our students benefit from the 150-person capacity student canteen (Engineering Faculty common area) and 2000-person/meal capacity student cafeteria (University common area).

 

 The construction sector is an essential sector for the development of countries. The development of this sector is only possible with the training of qualified personnel who follow the changes in science and technology. Therefore, besides mathematics, physics and chemistry sciences, and basic engineering subjects, our education program also includes laboratory and design experiences to prepare graduates to apply civil engineering principles to current engineering problems. Our department has taken its place among our country's leading Civil Engineering departments in a short time by following the technological and academic developments in all these subjects and aiming to convey the applications related to the latest state of the technique to its students.

 

 A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is given to students who complete all of the courses (240 ECTS in total) available in the Civil Engineering Program, achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and get a passing grade from the internship report they prepared with their professional internship. Graduates of the civil engineering department are given the title of "Civil Engineer." Since he/she will be a four-year faculty graduate, he will have all the powers granted to a Civil Engineer. Our graduates will be able to work in various public and private institutions related to the construction industry in production, quality control, R&D, and design. In addition, it will be possible to be employed as a manager in public institutions, organizations, and private companies related to the construction sector. In addition, the student who completes the program can apply for master's and doctorate degrees in Civil Engineering or related departments if he/she shows proficiency in the exams required for graduate education.

 

Industrial Engineering
