7th Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Sports Days Started with ASMAC Congress
The 7th Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Sports Days, which is being organized for the 7th time this year on May 15-25 with the theme "Relive history, keep your roots alive", started with the Opening Ceremony and the Special Opening Session of the International Congress on Multidisciplinary Approaches in Agricultural Sciences (ASMAC).
The ceremony, which took place at Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, started with the screening of the promotional film of the 7th Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Sports Days. Following the screening of the promotional film, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ümmügülsüm Erdoğan, as the Chairman of the ASMAC Congress Organizing Committee, addressed the congress participants and guests with a speech on the relationship between sustainable agriculture and Bayburt University's organic farming activities. Afterwards, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mutlu Türkmen gave a summarizing speech covering both the 7th Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Sports Days and the first event ASMAC. Explaining the point that the theme "Relive history, keep your roots alive" wants to emphasize, Rector Türkmen said: "History ends when it is perceived as a story that has been lived and finished. History is a state of connectedness and rootedness that lives today and will live in the future. We, the founders of a glorious history since Dede Korkut, are together today to relive history and keep our roots alive." In his address, Rector Türkmen also mentioned the vision of internationalization and gave the good news of an important memorandum and international membership to be signed within the week, and interpreted the scope of internationalization as sometimes opening to the world and sometimes welcoming the world. Stating that Dede Korkut is a universal value that opens to the world, Rector Türkmen stated that Dede Korkut Science, Culture, Art and Sports Days not only has this mission, but also has the mission of bringing different cultures from around the world together at our University.
